Question: Do I have to be 21 to carry a concealed weapon?
Answer: Missouri State Statute (Law) requires a resident to be at least 23 years of age or older to be able to obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Question: What do I need to do to get a permit to have a concealed weapon?
Answer: THe first step in the process is attending the Concealed Carry Training Course offered by Canovi & Associates. Once you complete the course, you will be given a certificate to take to the Sheriff's Department in the county you reside.  The Sheriff will fingerprint you & do a background check.  Once that information comes back, the Sheriff's Department will give you a slip of paper to take to the License Bureau.  You will then need to have put on your Driver's License or Missouri ID Card that you are a Concealed Carry Permit holder.

Question: What kind of gun will I need?
Answer: You will need the use of a revolver and semi-automatic handgun. If you have only one or none at all, our instructor will provide you with one or both for a modest fee. You can purchase ammunition at the shooting range or it will be provided if you decide to use your instructor's weapon. Pease refer to Concealed Carry Course for full details.

Question: What are the limits or restrictions regarding the use of a concealed weapon?
Answer Our instructor will provide you with a good understanding of ownership requirement, the safe-use and functionality of handguns during the classroom session of the course. You will receive in-depth instructions on the law regarding the carrying and possible use of a concealed weapon.

Question: What if I have not shot a handgun very much. Will I need to get some shooting practice before coming to the course.
Answer The answer is that it would be helpful, but not necessary. Our instructor will spend one-on-one time helping you learn the basics of handgun shooting and ensure absolute range safety at all times. Even if you are an experienced shooter, you will learn good shooting basics and techniques during the course. Do not worry about your ability to shoot. Our instructors have trained Peace Officers and worked with shooters all over the world. You will go away with your "Certificate of Firearms Safety Training Course" and an understanding of handgun safety and basic shooting techniques. Your instructor will spend all the time necessary with you to see that you meet those minimum requirements.

Question: What will I gain from the Practical Handgun Course?
Answer: First, it is only a three hour course and not too costly. Secondly, you will continue to master the basic techniques and fundamentals learned in your Concealed Carry course. You will experience freedom of movement and shooting multiple targets while shooting on the move. Signup now and keep gaining experience and self-confidence.
